Evaluation: Week 9 (15/04-21/04)

This week focused on continuing production, as well as conducting an audience research survey in order to gain feedback on how I should continue.

Firstly I conducted my audience research, the purpose of which was to allow me to gather information on how I should continue with my work, and look back on what I had already created.

This task taught me the importance of looking back on previous work, even partway through production, to check up on what you can constantly be improving. I feel as though I have gained a greater knowledge on how audience feedback could be utilised on a project.

Secondly, I continued work on my production. This entailed more rotoscoping work, requiring me to work out some problems, mentioned during my problem solving. While rotoscoping was something I had done previously in this project, this time I had to work with more complicated video, where the figure moved around a lot, had long hair, and many details were present in the background. All of this led to a harder rotoscope job than before.

From this task I learned how to rotoscope more thoroughly, also giving me much greater experience with the rotobrush tool than before. It taught me the importance of thorough work, especially necessary for rotoscoping, for delivering a satisfying and adequate final product.

Overall, I think the combination of these tasks this week has allowed me to really learn how audience research and practical work work simultaneously in a project, being done aside one-another to deliver the best possible product for the target audience. My main weakness this week was the rotoscoping, something I find taking a very long time, and a lot of work to get the little details.

The work here has shaped my skills in how to take audience feedback, and apply it to a product already in the works, to produce the best possible outcome. It has shaped the production stage of the project, as I will keep the audience's opinions in mind while developing.
